12 Weeks

Dear Cashew,

This week marks 12 weeks since you began setting up house in my belly.  Your bodily structures are already fully formed.  You are about the size of a large plum, measuring about 2.5 inches long.  This week we heard your heartbeat loud and clear in the 160s, and I think mine skipped a beat.  We are so happy to know that you are doing well.  We love our new OB, she is so kind and will be amazing during this pregnancy.  We pray for you every night before we go to bed.  I'm not showing much yet, but I have put on a few pounds already.  I'm looking forward to having a "baby bump" here in a few weeks.  We have all been guessing if you will be a boy or a girl.  Most people think you are a girl, although we don't mind either way.  Continue growing and making yourself at home, we'll be here anxiously awaiting your arrival.
