More Baby Bump Club Photos

I have lots of friends that are preggers now, and just a few more photos to add to the Baby Bump Club:

First Baby Shower

This past Sunday my wonderful extended family hosted our first baby shower.  I've been to tons of showers before, but it is so fun when you are the honored guest.  My Aunt Darlene, Kathleen, Colleen, Chanan, and Amanda did a great job with everything.  Sean and I appreciated all the longtime friends and family that came to show their love for us and Belle.  We got so many amazing gifts, and most of it was pink!  Now we have to pray this child is a girl because there is no turning back now.  Thanks again for everything!

Smashing Pumpkins and Beau's Wedding

Hello,

Well it has been a long time since I've written a post because we have been incredibly busy lately.  I decided to surprise Sean for his 28th birthday by taking him to see his favorite band, The Smashing Pumpkins, perform.  The only hiccup was that the show was in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and we had to go to Sean's brother's wedding that weekend.  It was a quick road trip, but definitely worth it!  I could tell Sean loved it, and I was so happy to do that for him.  Then, we went to Petit Jean mountain for Beau's wedding weekend.  It was gorgeous weather for an outdoor wedding, and the happy couple could not look more beautiful!  The ceremony took place at sunset, and the reception lasted late into the night with a sit down dinner and dancing.  Here are a few photos from our busy but fun time!

We made it to the concert after a 12 hour drive!

The closest we will probably ever get to Billy Corgan

25 Weeks

Well, I'm officially 25 weeks tomorrow, and I'm starting to feel pregnant now (not that I didn't before).  It is getting more difficult to sleep due to the constant peeing and back pain, but it is all worth it.  My sweet husband has been a big help me and even gets me more pillows in the middle of the night!  I went to the OB today and Belle's heartbeat was 145 bpm.  She must have been sleeping. :)  I also took the glucose test and had to drink that disgusting liquid that tasted like bad Fanta, and got my flu shot to get ready for the winter.  We have done some nursery preparation by clearing out the guest bedroom.  The grandparents have really taken care of us by buying her crib and glider already!  We can't wait to start painting in a few weeks and getting all the furniture in the room.  I've been a consignment event stalker these past few months searching for cheap baby items.  We found a mattress and swing for a steal at one event.  On another note, Sean's brother, Beau, is getting married this Saturday!  We had the rehearsal dinner last night and here are a few photos from that fun evening.

We Have a Name!

It was incredibly difficult to agree on a name because Sean is very picky.  Today is an exciting day for us because we finally decided on a name, our baby girl will be known as:

Isabelle Catherine Whetstone
We have been calling her Belle and she seems to like it!  I thought of the name Isabelle while a freshman in college long before it became a popular name.  Catherine is a family name on the Whetstone side.  This is what Sean found about the meaning of the names:

Isabelle(French form of a Hebrew name) – Consecrated to God / My God is a Vow (The French form adds the meaning – beautiful)
Catherine (French form of a Greek name) – Pure

23 Weeks and Good News

Dear Belle,

We have decided on a first name for you, and it is one I dreamed about in college long before it became so popular.  You will be named Isabelle, and we will call you Belle.  Your daddy is very picky, so you are lucky you have a name at all.  We are still deciding on the middle name, and we are hoping we can find a family name with a special meaning that we like.  You have grown and amazed us so much this past week.  I am 23 weeks along today and people are starting to notice my baby bump.  Daddy felt you move for the first time last Wednesday, and he said it felt like a tapping outside of my belly.  I can feel you all the time now, and it amazes me every time.  Sometimes you even stick out an elbow or knee and it is hard lump that you can feel easily!  We went to the genetics OB and cardiologist on Friday.  Your mommy got very upset and started crying because we had to wait for an hour past our appointment time, and we found out your doctor wasn't going to be there at the last minute.  All I have to say is don't mess with a pregnant lady and her hormones!  Our moms came with us and got to see you for the first time.  They loved it and we are blessed to have their support.  You weigh exactly one pound, and your heartrate was 149 when sleeping and 154 when awake.  All is well with you, no signs of Down's Syndrome, no cleft palate, and no aortic stenosis.  Praise the Lord for a healthy baby!  You even fell asleep halfway through the appointment and I had to shake my belly and start jumping up and down to get good pictures of your heart!  Daddy and me were so relieved, and even purchased our first few baby items this weekend:  a swing, a crib mattress, and a brand new digital camera to take photos of you!  We love you more and more each day, stay strong and healthy for us Baby Belle.

Love,
Mommy

The Baby Bump Club

It seems like everyone I know is pregnant or just had a baby, which makes it even more fun because I have friends to talk to about my aches and pains.  These past few months I have been invited to 7 baby showers!  Pray for us on Friday, we go for our second ultrasound with the fetal medicine specialist and we will have an ECHO to see if our baby girl's heart is developing normally.
